how to apply for visiting grants

Collaboration Grants

The FLAD Computational Biology Collaboratorium invites the submission of applications for short-visit grants. These grants are awarded to partnerships of a few researchers who wish to work on a short-term problem while visiting the collaboratorium. The proposals are evaluated by members of the scientific advisory committee, who issue a recommendation to the board of directors. These grants will partner researchers from different institutions, one of whom should preferably be from a Portuguese institution, for a period of 1 of 2 months. Grants cover travel, accommodation and lodging as needed, as well as access to available computational resources.

Collaboration grants may be submitted to collaboratorium@igc.gulbenkian.pt at any time, and will be evaluated within 2 months of reception. Proposals must include the following elements (in pdf, Text, MS Word, or WordPerfect formats):

  1. A small proposal (2-4 pages) describing the problem that will be tackled during the visit and why the proposed partnership is appropriate.
  2. Curriculum Vitae of the researchers involved.
  3. Description of resources needed for collaboration.

Workshop and workgroup Grants

The FLAD Computational Biology Collaboratorium invites the submission of applications for hosting workshops and workgroups. These grants cover the cost of our facilities necessary to host workgroups and small workshops. Please contact the direction for more information on this type of grant.
