Only one in 5 Ph.D. holders have a job in Academia in Europe and North America. The skill-set developed during a doctorate is invaluable in non-academic professional settings. Yet, most Ph.D. students and postdocs have little or no information on the the different careers paths that lay before them.
Career Paths aims to promote an open discussion among PhD students, postdocs, and several internationally successful professionals with very different and exciting career paths. This workshop will offer insights into a broad array of careers ranging from Science Communication to Technology Entrepreneurship.
Whether you are working towards a PhD degree or already hold one, whether you have decided to stay in academia or not, Career Paths will be a great opportunity to meet outstanding speakers and learn about alternative career paths, some of which are fully compatible with academic work.
